Travel Diaries: Starr in Denmark

Starr and her favorite Copenhagen houseboat on the canal, wearing the Cecilia Vest
Our Co-Founder, Starr, and her family recently spent their end of summer holiday in Copenhagen. The Danish capital has become synonymous with minimalist aesthetics, sustainable practices, and a deep connection to both functionality and beauty. The city’s fashion scene is a reflection of its culture, where design extends beyond the surface, weaving into the fabric of everyday life.
The perfect blend of modernity and classicality, Copenhagen continues to draw Starr in and inspires her style and designs. Follow along to discover some of Starr’s favorite locations across the city and enjoy Copenhagen through her lens.
Special thanks to Lauren Spencer King for her incredible Copenhagen recommendations!
Starr’s Copenhagen Favorites:

Rabarbergaarden Skittet | “The Rhubarb Farm” // Hillerød, which lies less than an hour's drive north of central Copenhagen, is home to a new organic restaurant located in a former carriage house by the Frederiksborg Castle. Rabarbergaarden is known for its self-sufficient and idyllic restaurant, farm shop, and bakery in Vejby, New Zealand. At its Hillerød location, Rabarbergaarden Slottet provides a sustainable gastronomic experience - inclusive of local, organic ingredients from a sustainable farm-to-table kitchen.
Reform // Drool-worthy kitchens where great design meets versatility.
Reform collaborates with internationally acclaimed architects and designers to create modern kitchen spaces and push the boundaries of the industry. Reflecting the kitchen’s vital role as the center of homes, Reform meets the new demands of everyday living
Color Story // Across the city, Starr’s eye was drawn to the punctuations of color on a bed of neutrals seen across interior design, fashion and architecture. HAY (pictured above) collaborates with some of the world’s best designers to produce a wide range of home design items intended to brighten everyday living.

Sustainability at the Core // Home to the Copenhagen Fashion Summit, one of the largest events in the world dedicated to sustainable fashion, Copenhagen is a global leader in sustainable fashion. Many Danish brands create collections made with organic materials, ethical production methods, and designs that are meant to last. This ethos is realized beyond fashion, with 546 km of bicycle paths, a fleet of electric harbor ferries, and the goal of becoming the first carbon-neutral city by 2025.
Bornholm // Starr’s family spent time in Bornholm, a Danish island in the Baltic Sea off the south coast of Sweden and to the east of Denmark. Nicknamed the “Sunshine Island,” this laid-back island is marked by a rocky coastline, classic fishing villages and culinary wonders.
Kadeau // A Bornholm Michelin star restaurant.
