"We make clothes that last for years to come"
Apiece Apart is guided by a deep social and environmental conscience, and we make business decisions that prioritize people and the planet. We're tremendously proud of the progress we've made toward sustainability (it's a journey, not a destination), and we will continue to make changes that lead to environmental impact. Read more about our progress below - progress we couldn't have made without your support.
What We've Accomplished
1 /
We have diverted 267,328 conventional plastic polybags from landfills; our TIPA bags (what you receive your clothing in) are certified home and industrially compostable
2 /
97% of our materials are eco-friendly, natural or certified fibers
3 /
Since October 2022, we have planted 44,924 trees through our partnership with Ecodrive; one tree planted for every order
4 /
Through our regenerative cotton partnership with Oshadi Collective (read more below), for our Spring/Summer 2024 growing and harvest seasons, our 66 acres sequestered over 463 tonnes of carbon from the atmosphere
5 /
We launched Apiece Apart Archive, our resale channel, to support sending our pieces to new homes instead of landfills
Materials Matter
1 /
85% of our collection is produced with natural fibers (cotton, linen, wool, cashmere, silk)
2 /
85% of the cotton used in our latest collection is certified organic or regenerative
3 /
63% of our garments are produced with certified yarns - GOTS, Lenzing Tencel and GRS (Global Recycled Standard)
4 /
Our labels are made from 100% organic cotton and printed with soy-based ink; they are 100% recyclable and biodegradable
5 /
We never use plastic buttons on our garments, opting to use natural shell or corozo
6 /
Whenever possible, we use digital printing which reduces water waste
The Denim Collection
Our denim is crafted from regenerative, recycled and organic cotton. We are proud to work with a trusted network of regenagri® certified farmers and the majority of denim styles are made of 100% regenerative cotton.
How We Are Made
Laser Detailing /
Our factories use 3D laser machines to add distressing, whiskering and other unique style details. The laser process eliminates harmful chemicals and reduces water usage during manufacturing
Ozone Washing /
Ozone washing machines use oxygen atoms to break down the color on denim giving that authentic, broken in feel to our washes. This process minimizes the use of water, chemicals and energy required in traditional washing
E-Flow /
This technology uses nanobubbles of air to transmit denim finishers (color, softeners, antimicrobials, etc.) onto a garment with minimal water and zero chemical discharge
Water Filtration /
Our factory’s washing machines are connected to closed loop, in-house water filtration systems to recycle water used during manufacturing process

A Regenerative Future
In September 2021, we partnered with Oshadi Collective and committed to 23 acres of land in Erode, India to grow our own regenerative cotton. Today, we have over 66 acres of regenerative cotton, resulting in a total of 463 tonnes of carbon sequestered. Regenerative agriculture goes beyond just sustaining or limiting the depletion of natural resources–it gives back to the land. Our first harvest yielded over 14,000 yards of regeneratively grown cotton, and to date we have produced 7,362 regenerative garments.
One Tree for Every Order
In October 2022, we partnered with Ecodrive to plant verified Mangrove trees, a direct investment in the planet, leading to a long-term positive impact on our environment. Studies have show that mangroves are one of the most effective and economic methods of sequestering carbon emissions from the atmosphere–mangroves sequester carbon at a rate 2-4x greater than mature tropical forests and contain the highest carbon density of all terrestrial ecosystems.
How We Produce Your Garments
We craft timeless, long-lasting garments that exist outside of trend cycles, and every Apiece Apart collection is cut-to-order, with little to no excess inventory at the end of each season.
As part of our ongoing sustainability efforts, we source natural, organic and recycled fibers whenever possible, and we work to minimize waste and energy usage in our design and production process. When we do have excess, liability fabric, we repurpose it in the form of pajama capsules (shown above) or we donate to Fabscrap, a New York based nonprofit working to divert textile waste from landfills.
We prioritize fair treatment of workers and artisans within our supply chain. Our traceability is 100% for our tier 1 factory manufacturing partners (cut and sew), and we’re committed to providing complete lifecycle visibility – from seed and farm, to spinners and dyers, to the factory and ultimately to you.
